Karapatang Pantao 101 (Human Rights 101) is the final product of a project by the Initiatives for Dialogue and Empowerment through Alternative Legal Services (IDEALS) in partnership with the Commission on Human Rights of the Philippines (CHR) and the Catholic Education Association of the Philippines (CEAP) to better integrate human rights education (HRE) into the Philippine basic education curriculum. Released in 2023, the handbook contains a brief discussion of the history, concepts, and practical uses of human rights in everyday life, with the aim of being used as an instructional supplement for teachers in the Philippines, with sample lesson plans and activities included for this purpose.
As the Media and Communications lead for the project, I was responsible for the development of the material based on the existing module from the CHR. This included creating prototypes and testing them through workshops with social sciences teachers, creating online campaigns, and creating the design and layout of the material itself with the help of using paid assets from Canva.
